Careers

We grow when the right people join.

No open vacancies right now — but we always want to hear from engineers, agronomists and applied-AI researchers who care about UK agriculture. The list below is what we typically look for; if any of it sounds like you, get in touch.

How we work

A few things we believe in.

  • We work on real problems

Not synthetic benchmarks. Every line of code touches a field somewhere.

  • Researchers and shippers, together

We hold ourselves to peer-reviewed standards while also having to ship reliable mobile apps. Both matter.

  • Plain language

In meetings, in code, in customer conversations. Honest about what we know and what we don't.

  • Open about boundaries

We don't over-promise — NDVI isn't a soil-health verdict, Carbon Footprint isn't MRV. Working here means being comfortable with calibration over hype.

Roles we typically look for

No open ads — but here's where we grow.

When we do hire, it's in one of these tracks. If you'd be a fit for any of these, please send a CV and a paragraph on why — we keep a small standing pipeline and reach out as roles open.

  • Senior backend engineer

Java/Spring, MongoDB, REST. Owns parts of the Parallel Farm core (Smart Planning, Farm Tasks, Records). Comfortable working closely with agronomists to model the domain accurately.

    • 5+ years backend
    • Domain-driven design
    • Bonus: agritech or geospatial experience
  • Mobile / front-end engineer

iOS + Android (React Native or native) for Pezego; Vue 3 / Astro for the web dashboard. Designs for low-connectivity rural use cases.

    • Mobile shipping experience
    • Strong TypeScript
    • Bonus: offline-first / sync experience
  • Applied AI / ML engineer

Computer vision (pest identification), time-series (NDVI, environmental modelling), structured-output LLM integrations. Comfortable bridging research papers and shipping production systems.

    • Production ML experience
    • Python + serving frameworks
    • Bonus: agricultural domain or remote-sensing background
  • Agronomy / domain specialist

Works alongside engineering to encode agronomic logic — RB209 implementation, IPM thresholds, crop growth stages. Could be part-time or consultant.

    • Agronomic qualification (BASIS or similar)
    • Comfortable reviewing model outputs against real field conditions
  • Extension Service Officer / regional lead

Particularly for the Ghana programme — a regional coordinator working with smallholder farmers and partner ESOs.

    • Ghana-based or able to travel
    • Agricultural extension background
    • Pezego user from day one
  • Programme / commercial lead

Owns the engagement pipeline — discovery calls, pilot proposals, programme partner relationships. Bridges product and customer.

    • B2B agritech or sustainability-programme background
    • UK-based; international travel for partner events

The honest bit

What you should know before getting in touch.

We're a small, UK-incorporated company with a small team. Compensation is competitive for the UK agritech sector, not Silicon Valley. We can usually offer share options for senior hires.

We're not a remote-first company by default — Liverpool and the UK research network are our base. Hybrid is standard; fully-remote can work for the right person and role.

If you join, you'll be expected to talk to farmers, agronomists and programme partners regularly. The platform exists to serve them; we don't have a "back-office engineering" track.
